Sustainability

At Mirvac, we believe we have a responsibility to use our influence to help preserve and regenerate our one precious planet and be a force for good in everything we do.

Our sustainability strategy, This Changes Everything, sets out clear targets to ensure we continue to have a positive environmental and social impact and make better choices. Whether in apartments, masterplanned communities, shopping centres or workplaces, Mirvac continues to break new ground in sustainability.

In November 2021, we announced that our ambitious plan to become net positive in carbon had been met nine years ahead of schedule, the first Australian property company to reach a net positive target. We continue to work towards our targets to become net positive water and send zero water to landfill, both by 2030. We already recycle 95% of our construction waste.

The challenges associated with urban living aren’t just environmental, either. As part of our focus on social sustainability, we’ve committed to triple our community investment by 2022, and are investing in a longitudinal wellbeing study, aiming to build supportive, connected, and socially cohesive communities.

Mirvac acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters of Australia and we pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise that West Pennant Hills is located on the land of the Dharug people and we thank them for their care of this special place since time immemorial.
